Description

Lincoln Zephyr Continental Club Coupe VIN: H115120 Black with Grey Cloth Interior The Continental was a spectacular departure from the standard Zephyr production and was the first of the line of Continentals that continued on until quite recently. For its era, it was an impressively advanced piece of engineering. Powered by a silky-smooth V12, with power transmitted through a 3-speed transmission with overdrive, this car supplies fabulous, smooth, quiet performance. This particular car has been fitted with special detailing not found on other cars. Having been the subject of a very thorough restoration many years ago, it is in excellent condition, both above and below. The paintwork has a mirror finish quality and the chrome is excellent all around. There are no flaws of any significance anywhere on the exterior. The high quality paint and chrome sets off nicely the dramatic fender and grille lines. All the original lenses and badges remain, and all are in very good condition. The interior of the Lincoln Zephyr Continental Club Coupe is an impressive sight regardless. This car in particular is stunning thanks to a beautifully formed wood steering wheel which was built for the original owner, a lumber tycoon. The gold trimmed knobs and levers are in excellent condition, as are the seats, carpet, door panel, and headliner upholstery. The art-deco dash is wonderfully preserved and finished in a dark burgundy with a painted pattern, and all the original knobs and switches intact and present. The car drives like a dream- smooth, quite performance. The engine was totally rebuilt by Selby and Sons in Santa Rosa, California not more that 1,000 miles ago. Consequently, it pulls strongly with no smoke and virtually no sound from beneath the hood. The transmission is in good working order, is easy to shift, and does not pop out of gear under deceleration. The brakes are effective and stop the car evenly, and the suspension is soft and compliant. There are no rattles. The engine compartment was nicely detailed when the motor was rebuilt and remains outstanding. The underside of the car shows that the scope of the restoration was both cosmetic and mechanical, and the car has apparently only been driven in fair weather conditions since. Having been thoroughly restored and rebuilt, this example will be a delight to own, and represents excellent value as a historic motor car. As part of a large collection, as a weekend driver, or as a show car, it is sure to be an impressive vehicle to see and to experience. With the car come some tools, and records for the last 14 years.
