1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Red with Black Interior s/n 15113 Built in January of 1972 and sold new in the US, this Ferrari Daytona is a straight and solid performer. This car was sold in the craziness of the late 1980s to Japan where it remained for 10-15 years, then was brought back to California and sold to the current owner. The car is well equipped with A/C and Borrani wire wheels. Currently the odometer shows 16,220 miles. There are no records to suggest this is incorrect. There are no apparent mechanical issues. The carburetors are synched nicely and throttle response is excellent. The transaxle shifts smoothly and freely, and second gear synchro is strong. The suspension is compliant and solid, and this Daytona, in comparison to others, steers more easily at slow speeds. Recent mechanical improvements include a new electronic ignition, a new exhaust system, new Michelin Pilot tires, and a recent tune up and service at Dino Motors. When the current owner purchased the car he performed a compression check. All of the readings were between 175 and 180lbs. The car has been repainted, the dash recovered, and the carpets replaced. The seats, console, rear shelf, and door panels are all the original leather. While a very high quality respray, some blemishes are beginning to show through as the paint ages. The Borranis are recently polished and in extremely good condition. Included in the sale are the jack and jack bag, hub puller, and Borrani spare. Perhaps no other Ferrari has enjoyed such dramatic appreciation over the last two years as the 365 GTB/4 Daytona.
