History of This Car

Remaining in California under first and second ownership until 2022, this AMG SL63 Roadster was delivered to Mercedes-Benz of Stevens Creek, San Jose, CA July 23, 2012, and sold a week later to the first owner. Options on the car include:

General Condition

Today this amazing Mercedes-Benz AMG roadster presents in gleaming Black, delivering a satisfying factory finish to the dramatic and sporty body lines. The paint has been well-maintained, reflective of the accumulated 23,000 miles. The factory finish has been digitally metered, returning single digit numbers that are consistent with factory applied paint. All glass, clear front and rear lenses, and exterior body trim are in excellent cosmetic condition including the rectangular AMG quad exhaust tips exiting the aerodynamically contoured rear body section. All openings function as new, with excellent closure, proper gapping, and crisp fit to front and rear bumper caps. There are no chips or notable scratches in the windshield, rear, or side glass. The 19” front and 20” rear AMG wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport tires are in excellent condition as well with no curb rash and consistent finish to the exclusive wheel surfaces. The massive, ventilated disc brakes and multi-piston calipers are mounted at all four corners. The retractable power top raises and lowers smoothly within seconds, resting under the hard-shell rear cover to give the car its distinct roadster appearance.

Inside the car, the supple Black leather interior exhibits excellent finishes, stitching, and smooth contours throughout including the driver’s side seat bolster which shows only mild evidence of use. All interior components have been beautifully maintained including the carpet, headliner, and electronic features. The beautifully sculpted dashboard features inlaid burl walnut veneers accented by brushed alloy finishes and multi-feature control knobs. The driver and passenger ventilated adjustable seats offer multiple power settings and memory with fantastic bolstering that is both supportive for sport driving and comfortable for long range cruising. The premium Harmon/Kardon Surround Sound audio system offers excellent sound range with powerful output even when cruising at highway speeds with the top down. Every aspect of the interior is beautifully finished and properly detailed by three thoughtful owners. Even the rear storage bins are in excellent condition. The trunk is finished with factory materials that appear as new, retaining the protective convertible top shroud, important for safe storage of travel bags.

Under the hood, the powerful hand-crafted bi-turbo V8 offers incredible AMG performance especially linked to the 7-speed transmission activated with split-second shifting from the steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The engine has been properly maintained, benefiting from regular care and fluid changes per recommendations. Every factory component, trim piece, and manufacturer’s engine compartment sticker remains in place and in excellent cosmetic condition. The undercarriage of the car further supports the documented low miles showing no significant road marks on the factory aerodynamic chassis pans with very nice visual condition evident to the components and protective pans. Suspension and various exposed components revealed in the underside are also in excellent condition, displaying a clean and fresh appearance.

Driving this AMG Roadster reveals a wonderful balance of on-tap power and comfort seldom found in cars with such performance capabilities. The stealthy black finish is perfectly matched to the sinister power and elegant poise. Though highly capable of besting even top-level exotics, the SL remains very compliant in traffic, offering refreshing AC, easy to use controls, a splendid sound system, and just enough room for overnight bags to suit your next getaway. As seen in various stickers mounted on body panels, this car has been treated to a protective etching “Safe Parts” process that identifies the VIN as part of a theft protection program.
