1968 McLaren M6B #11
Chassis # 50-03,
Red with White stripes

Started the 1968 Can Am Season with a Westlake Ford motor. Changed to a Alum Chevy big block for the Laguna Seca race. Jim Hall ran up the rear of this car at Las Vegas two races later while fighting for position (4th). The car was rebuilt by Motschenbacher over the 1969 season. It was taken to Japan for end of ’69 with M12 bodywork. It was bought by “Sakai Racing”, where Tony Adamowicz drove it in the International race in 1971. In the early ‘70s, the car was raced by Mr. Takahara. In 1999 the car was found in a garage at Mt. Fuji Raceway. The original crewchief for Mr. Takahara, Mr. Ogura, was hired to redo the car with M6B bodywork and original parts and new aluminum panels where needed (bulkheads had to be replaced because of rust). Chassis 50-03 has been racing in the prestigious Japan series, Neko Historics.

Body work has never been damaged since it was put on in 2000.
