When this car arrived at Fantasy Junction, it was believed to be an exceptionally clean, ultra low mileage example as it shows just 8,500 miles on the odometer. Further analysis by Rolls Royce expert Lawrence Anderson suggests that the approximate mileage of this example is most likely somewhat higher. Mr. Anderson remarked that the car was an extremely well maintained and high quality example, with an updated speedometer. In 1976, luxury cars delivered in the US were supplied with an 85 mph speedometer, while this car now has a 140 mph speedometer.

Much recent work has been done during the current ownership period to confirm the car is in excellent operating order. The carburetors and fuel pumps have been serviced, all fluids changed, water pump replaced along with fan clutch and thermostat, power steering pump serviced, rear end seals replaced along with new drive shaft boots, brake accumulators and pressure switches overhauled, service air condition system, and the soft brake lines were replaced as required. This work was done by the Rolls Royce/Bentley dealer in May of 2005, just 1,900 miles ago, and totaled $10,314.

The cosmetic condition of this car would indeed suggest that it only had 8,500 miles. It has a high quality, older repaint in its original color. While there is some shrinkage and stress cracks in selected areas, the presentation is still very strong. The body is extremely straight and the door shut and panel match is outstanding. The chrome and stainless trim is excellent showing virtually no age, wear, or weathering. The window glass and lenses are excellent throughout. The top is a cream vinyl unit which looks to be original, is in good condition, and fits well. This car sits on unmarked wheels with new Michelin tires.

The interior is generally excellent, and would again lead you to be believe this was an exceptionally low mileage car. The dash, door, and top frame wood is virtually perfect. The front seats show just very light ceasing and wear, while the rear seats and door panels are as new. The carpets and lamb`s wool inlays are outstanding. The top boot is in good condition and fits well. The soft top headliner is also very nice. This car is even equipped with its original 8-track cassette player!

The engine bay has the look of a very well cared for example and is nicely detailed. The underside is completely free of rust or repairs, and shows evidence of much recent mechanical work. The trunk appears to be original and is in near perfect condition.

From a driver`s standpoint, it would be hard to ask for a better car. The suspension is tight, brakes effective, and engine serenely quiet.

In addition to the service records from the current ownership period, this example comes with the complete tool set, the complete manual set (with service booklet, warranty card, radio instructions, etc), jack and jack bag, and spare wheel and tire. While perhaps not an 8,500 mile car from new, this is certainly a fine example of a well cared for and highly original car which drives as good as it looks.
