1930 Rolls Royce Phantom II Cabriolet de Ville
Coachwork by Saoutchik
s/n 68 GN, Engine no. QR 45
Black with Black and Teal Leather
Incredibly elaborate formal, one-off coachwork by Saoutchik of Paris. Phenomenally ornate Art Deco detailing throughout including hand-painted lacquer interior panels. Intriguing provenance, built to the order of Rosalie Hooker (Princess Melikov de Somhetie). Fully articulating three position cabriolet top. Sympathetically revived including rebuilt engine by marquee specialist Alan Glew. Strong performance with comparatively light steering. Magical presence and show-ready presentation. Astronomically expensive when new, this is a masterpiece of the avant-garde coach builders art representing the height of fashion at the time.
More to come.
