Though documentation with this car is limited, the following information has been presented by the previous and current owners and is believed to accurately represent the history and individuals associated with this car.

-Specifically constructed for the first years of stock car racing, this Ford Stock Car was built and driven by 1999 International Motorsports Hall of Fame Inductee Harry Hyde.

-In 1947 Hyde built #19 to race in the Modified Class. Harry Hyde raced it for two years then handed driving duties over to his brother, while Harry went on to build dozens of highly competitive race cars.

-#19 ran on short track venues, both dirt and asphalt throughout the South until retiring in 1959. The car remained in storage until Hyde passed away in 1996 when it was mechanically freshened and returned to participate in vintage racing events.

-Hyde’s professionally built cars won 56 Winston Cup races earning more than $4 million dollars in winnings with drivers Bobby Isaac, Bobby Allison, Buddy Baker, Cale Yarborough, and Jeff Bodine to name a few. Hyde served as crew chief for the famous K&K Insurance team including managing the record setting 1970 201 mph run at Talladega.

-Currently, the car presents spanning decades of gradually acquired patina much of which is believed to date back to the original racing era. The car has participated in assorted recent races as indicated on the windshield bearing multiple event stickers.

-2007 Wine Country Classic
-2007 CSRG Charity Challenge
-2008 Wine Country Classic
-CSRG 5th Charity Challenge
-2009 Wine Country Classic

-In 2001 the car participated in the Beach Parade Measured Mile “Living Legends of Racing” (Dash plaque on car)

-The engine is a flathead Ford or Mercury block with desirable EAB higher compression heads, essentially the last of the flathead engines built from 1952-1954.

-#19 engine fires up and runs, but the clutch is currently stuck, effectively acting as a direct drive.

-The car is offered on Bill of Sale only and sold as a race car.

-A copy of the Certificate of Authenticity signed by a Hyde family member is included with the car. The certificate contains statements verifying Harry Hyde's prior ownership and date of sale (2000) to the prior owners.

-#19 is accompanied by a display poster referencing the history of Hyde and this car. A vintage helmet, reportedly worn by Hyde during his early years as a driver, is also included.
