1950 Bentley Mk 6 Sedan Green with Brown Interior s/n B601FU With iconic pre-war styling, the Bentley Mk 6 is a fine example of British motoring elegance. Built to the absolute highest standards in quality and comfort for Royalty and Captains of Industry, it is with good reason these cars have become collector pieces. This particular example was imported from the United Kingdom in 1986 to Santa Cruz, California, where it was kept until the current owner purchased it in 2002. The odometer currently shows 85,000 miles, which is believed to be 185,000. The present owner has performed much mechanical work; the heads have been off, and the pistons and rings have been replaced. The valves were ground, and the carburetors rebuilt. A comprehensive brake overhaul was performed including wheel cylinder, master cylinder and servo rebuilds. At the time the current owner purchased the car, inspections of the front suspension and exhaust system were performed by a Rolls Royce expert in Marin, California. That Rolls Royce expert, well known for their award-winning detailing, were retained by the owner to perform the comprehensive detailing on the engine, compartment, and trunk areas. Cosmetically, the car is extremely nice. The interior is primarily original, and the front seats are somewhat weak accordingly. The dash wood, headliner and interior chrome are all very good. The rear seat leather is fair. It has seen a high quality respray some years back, and stills shows very well. There is no significant rust in the body or chassis. It is the Mk 6's elegant, iconic lines and eligibility for vintage tour events which makes this car such an attractive and usable classic.
