1957 Chevrolet 3100 Deluxe Pick-Up Truck
Color – Red
Interior – Gray
Engine. – GM Performance LS2 Crate V8
Transmission – GM 4L6SE 4-speed automatic
Current owner – Purchased in 2010
Previously purchased in 2000 by the former restoring owner, this truck was a solid factory six-cylinder example with no major body damage. Assembled originally in Atlanta, GA, it arrived in California in 1963. The Deluxe model is distinguished by the larger rear window, stainless steel trim, chrome bumpers and grille.
Under previous ownership, in 2004, a complete frame off restoration, totaling $60,000, was performed including media blasting. The front fenders, door bottoms, and cab corners revealed rust which was corrected with welded-in sheet metal into the original body panels. At the same time, the gas filler hole, bed rail ends, and tailgate chain links were filled in and the firewall smoothed. PPG Delstar DAR single stage acrylic enamel was applied by Gary Jensen and all bumpers and trim polished and replated. The bed wood is kiln dried white oak with stainless strips.
Rays Fabrication and Design installed a new GM Performance LS2 crate engine, complete with front serpentine, alternator, vintage air AC compressor, power brakes, and power steering pump, putting 400 hp through the GM 4L6SE automatic transmission. A new driveshaft with Currie 9” rear end was installed, rear leaf springs replaced, and a Mustang II power rack-and-pinion steering rack from the Hot Rod Shop was installed along with new adjustable front coils rated at 600 pounds. Engine management is through a computer from Street and Performance. Hansen’s Muffler installed 2.5” stainless steel exhaust with X crossover and Corvette-style Magnaflow mufflers.
The Howard McKee Interior includes a new Glide seat with cloth upholstery and seat heaters and custom fit wool carpet. An Autosound custom stereo with aux amp, iPod jack, and auto dimming Dakota Digital mirror. AC is Vintage Air with deluxe controls.
Awarded Good Guys Del Mar Nationals Top 10 Classic Truck and several local awards.

-Cathedral Port Manifold
-Classic Instruments Gauges
-Front stabilizer Rod
-Reworked Steering Linkage
-Updated Currie rear end to Posi-Trac
-Shortened the Tilt Steering Wheel
-New Motorized Antenna
-New LED Taillights and Turn Signals
This truck presents today in exceptional condition throughout. The exterior finishes are excellent with high quality chrome, great fit to the body panels, and a very clean bed. The interior has been thoughtfully updated in gray tones including the dashboard and custom steering column.
Under the hood, the engine compartment has been updated in matching red finish and the LS2 engine wakes up this truck with confidence through the 4-speed automatic transmission. Suspension and braking are very well resolved and perform as expected given the litany of highly qualified builders that have contributed to the build on this truck.
Numerous receipts dating back to 2004 for the original build, service records under current ownership, a car cover, service books, various spare parts, color matched front bra, and various light items are included with this truck.
