1959 Mercedes Benz 190 SL ID# 9500196 Cream with Brown Interior This is an extremely nice, unrestored, 78,000 mile, California car. The current owner bought it in the Bay Area in 1975, and has kept detailed service notes throughout his ownership. It is believe to be a three owner car from new, and has no history of accidents or rust repair. Much mechanical and cosmetic work has been performed. The motor was completely rebuilt in 1988 and a new clutch installed, the brakes were rebuilt, the carburetors have been replaced with new, correct units, the steering wheel refurbished, the interior reupholstered including carpets, a new black canvas top fitted, the bumpers re-chromed. This car is fitted with the desirable dash clock, and a late model alpine CD player with speakers tastefully fitted just above the rear shelf. The interior shows little wear having been fully reupholstered. The leather seats and door skins are in excellent condition as are the carpets of correct Mercedes fabric. The car has seen a reasonably high quality repaint in its original color. While the door jambs are showing some age, and there are some very minor nicks and dings, the car is more than presentable. All the exterior chrome is in excellent condition. The engine compartment is original and unrestored. The heater box is fully intact and in good condition. Mechanically, the car has a robust and honest feel, likely the result of never having been fully disassembled for restoration. The car comes with both the soft and hard tops, tools, and a 190 SL Spare Parts Book. The little brother of the extremely sought after and expensive 300SL, the 190 SL represents excellent and highly usable motoring value to the casual collector.
