Navy Blue with Blue Interior
It is with good reason that the Mark II is commonly viewed as Jaguar`s most beautiful sedan.
This wonderful example is fitted with a later and more desirable 4 speed transmission with overdrive and syncromesh first gear. The motor was rebuilt in 1996, and has logged 12,000 miles since. In 2000, the brakes, servo, and power steering units were rebuilt, as was the differential. New rear springs were als oinstalled when the rear end was out. In 2001, the gearbox was rebuilt, a new clutch installed and new Michelin Pilot 195/65 R16 tires fitted. A new muffler has recently been fitted. Currently, the car shows 3,709 miles, with actual mileage estimated to be 78,594.
The car drives well. Overdrive works, and the full syncro transmission shifts smoothly. The brakes stop the car effectively and in a straight line. The engine has good power and sounds as it should.
The car was repainted this stunning navy blue in 1998. The repaint was a reasonably high quality job, and there are no significant dents, scratches, or nicks anywhere on the car. The underside appears to be completely rust free, but there is one quarter sized bubble on the bottom corner of both rear doors. While there is no flaking or severe pitting on any of the exterior chrome, there is slight hazing notable on the front and rear bumpers, and minor discoloration on several of the smaller chrome pieces. The car shows extremely well, and looks to be a concourse example from 10 feet away.
The Interior was redone in 1999 and is excellent. The headliner, carpets, front and rear seat leather, and vinyl door skins are like new. The dash wood is good, and has been re-varnished. The door wood has also been re-varnished, but shows signs of some past splitting. The aluminum rocker guards are very nice, and the interior chrome is excellent throughout.
The entire engine compartment was nicely detailed at the time of the engine rebuilt, and still shows very well. The valve covers are nicely polished, accentuating the visual aspects of the motor. The trunk has been repainted and restored with new vinyl material. The underside is nicely detailed and is extremely solid.
With the car come the full size spare, jack, some tools, service manual, records outlining work completed back to 2000, and a few miscellaneous spare parts.
