The Bultaco Factory introduced the TSS model bike in 1956. It uses a double down tube frame which is torsionally more rigid than the earlier single down tube frame TSSs’
In 1965, this bike was sold by the factory directly to EMC Motorcycles in England. EMC was a competitor of Bultaco, making 2 stroke motorcycles in England. It was the first 250cc factory production road race bike and a total of 51 of these bikes made between 1965 and 1966.
This bike has the upgraded duplex chain and motoplat ignition and was raced extensively in England and Ireland. The motor was restored in Barcelona, Spain by Romero Motos. The Romero brothers were factory race mechanics working for Bultaco in the 1960s and are considered the mechanical and technical authorities today on Bultacos.
This bike has not been raced since its restoration but was shown at the 2005 Legends of Motorcycles in Half Moon Bay, California.
This is a matching numbers bike with the motor number reading M600-347-D-6 and the frame number reading B600 347.
This TSS features a 6 speed manual transmission, and runs a 38mm Amal carburetor with a remote match box float. The bike is also air-cooled. The wheels on the front and rear are 18” aluminum Akron. The tachometer is a 12000 rpm British Smiths’s tachometer.
