Price Substantially Reduced!! 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray s/n 1946765109155 Light Yellow with Black Interior Widely regarded to be one of the greatest sports cars of the 60`s, and one of the greatest Corvettes of all time, the C2 generation or `Sting Ray` is an American icon. Available in a wide variety of specifications, they proved to be quite successful on the race track, and in terms of sales. They incorporated contemporary mechanical innovations, including independent rear suspension, disc brakes for 1965, and even fuel injection briefly. This particular example is a nice honest car that has had just three owners from new, with its second owner keeping it for over thirty years. The car comes with service records back to the mid 1970`s and the car has been recently gone through to ensure that it is ready to use. The car is currently fitted with a 4-speed manual transmission and non-matching 327 cubic inch 350hp engine, which had received a new camshaft, lifters, rollers, and a rebuilt carburetor. The brakes have been checked, and the car generally serviced and tuned up. The car also has a hard top from a 1967 car, which has a new gasket and liner. The car was originally maroon but was repainted in the past. Cosmetically, the car is very nice, despite the passage of 27 years since being repainted. There are just a few small paint blemishes in the form of chips, and the car has tremendous eye appeal. The panels are straight and fit well, and the chrome and metal trim are excellent, with only light haze. The reproduction knock-off wheels are excellent and there is no soft top present. The interior is excellent as well, with very little wear apparent to the upholstery, carpeting, or dashboard. The instruments are in very nice condition, and all switches are present and in fine shape. The engine compartment is tidy and very clean, and there is much evidence indicating that the car has been properly looked after. The underside is also quite tidy and reveals no untoward signs of damage or leakage. This is a wonderful car to simply use. It has been mechanically sorted and is cosmetically attractive, making it an ideal starter classic, or an excellent car for the collector to use widely and reliably. It has been in California since new and presents as an extremely wholesome and appealing car.
