Description
1967 Ferrari 330 GTS
S/N 10731, Engine No. 10731
Sliver with Red Interior
The 330 GTS was designed and built by Pinin Farina, and when new, was Ferrari`s top of the line open road car. Marketed only to Ferrari`s elite clientele, just 100 examples were produced.
This example was manufactured for the US market and finished in its current color combination of silver with red interior. It was equipped from the factory with air conditioning and delivered on Borrani wire wheels. This car was first delivered on November 29th, 1967 and sold new through Charles Kemp`s Ferrari of Jacksonville to Duke Steinmann. In 1975 Herbert Skinner bought the car and subsequently showed it several times, regularly winning best of show. At some point during Skinner`s ownership the car was damaged. In 1986, the car reappeared on the market in the hands of Barry Russinoff who sold the car to ``Skeets`` Dunn in 1988. Mr. Dunn had Cornes Motors of San Diego, California restore the car to the absolute highest caliber between 1988-1992. We have documentation for over $200,000 in restoration work done to this car during those years. At the time of restoration the car had 47,230 miles.
In more recent years, the car has seen much mechanical attention by Patrick Ottis. We have invoices totaling no less than $31,000, covering comprehensive cooling, hydraulic, ignition, and electrical system services. A complete new Ansa exhaust system was installed in 2001. A massive $8,910 engine service, including adjusting the carburetors and rebuilding the distributors was performed just over 3,000 miles ago by Mr. Ottis.
The car is in excellent condition mechanically. The engine revs smoothly, with excellent power and no smoke. Both brakes and suspension operate as Ferrari intended. The Transaxle was completely rebuilt by Bob Wallace and second gear synchro remains excellent. All the gauges and accessories, less the A/C, are fully operational.
Cosmetically the car is in near-show condition. The repaint is a very high quality job and has only very minor use marks from the last 11,000 miles. All the body panels are straight. All the chrome is exceptional. The black canvas soft top is also in excellent condition with no fading the rear window plastic. The grille mouth is nicely polished, and the car sits on impeccably polished Borrani wire wheels with good Michelin XWX tires. The door jambs are fully detailed. The underside is fairly detailed and very straight and solid.
The interior is trimmed in very high quality red leather, with excellent red carpets. The dash and console are both trimmed in excellent black leather. The dash wood and factory steering wheel have both been completely refinished and are like-new. The driver`s floor mat beneath the pedals shows cracking. Like the console and dash, top boot has been trimmed in high quality black leather.
This is an immaculate, no excuses, matching numbers machine which is in need of nothing before being enjoyed by the new owner. The car comes with manual and parts books, and complete new tool kit, and alloy spare wheel, copies of the factory build sheets, and several hundred pages of invoices back to 1988. Currently the car has 58,675. The 66th of only 100 330 GTSs produced, this is outstanding example of one of Ferrari`s most desirable open sports cars.
