Description
1969 Ferrari 365 GTC
s/n 12197, Engine No. 12197
Red with Butterscotch Leather
From a driver`s standpoint, the 365 GTC is the premier roadgoing Ferrari coupe produced in the 1960s. The 365 GTC is nearly identical to the 330 GTC, but with its larger 4.4 litre motor, and with just a quarter as many produced, they are especially desirable.
This is an exceptional car, both cosmetically and mechanically. The body is straight, and the panel match is even and precise throughout. The car has been repainted, and repaint quality is exceptional and shows only very minor road wear to the front. The chrome is free of any significant flaws, inside or out. All the lenses and window glass is intact and in very good condition. The headlights are the rare and sought-after flat-faced Marchals. The car sits on polished Borrani wire wheels, with near new Michelin XWX tires. Also of note are the correct twin-stalk windscreen wipers.
The interior is trimmed in very high quality butterscotch leather, including the door and rocker panels. The color of the upholstery is a stunning and unique alternative to the more traditional tan or black interior and is extremely effective. The dash and console have all been reupholstered in very high quality black leather. The brown carpets are like new, with no evidence of wear. It is likely that the headliner has also been replaced, as it is like new. The factory wood wheel is still in place, and in excellent condition, along with all the factory switches and gauges. This car has been fitted with the very rare burl wood dash which is in excellent condition.
Mechanically, the car is one of the very best 365 GTCs that we have had the opportunity to handle. Both the engine and transaxle have just 2,500 miles since being completely rebuilt. A new, high-flow exhaust system has just been installed with new Ansa chrome tips. Consequently, this is one of the fastest 365 GTCs we have seen. The brakes and suspension are tight and compliant. All the switches and gauges, including the clock, are fully operational. All the accessories are operational. The A/C system blows moderately cold.
With the car comes the original tool roll, with many, but not all of the tools. Also present is a jack, and correct Borrani wire wheel spare with a good Michelin XWX tire. In need of nothing except to be enjoyed, this car represents excellent value among front engine, V12 Ferrari of very limited production.
