Car enthusiasts who travelled to Italy in the 1960 and 1970 will recognize the cinquecento as a mainstay of the Italian cityscape and an integral part of daily life. Incredibly efficient and personable, today the Fiat 500 makes for a charming urban runabout or delightful estate car. The rear seats provide functional seating for four, raising eyebrows on arrival as the whole family emerges from this tiny yellow micro car! The rag top configuration adds further flair for summertime motoring. This particular example has been sympathetically restored, and appears to be rebuilt, although we do not have documentation on file to confirm what specific work was carried out. It starts easily and runs well, with the brakes, suspension, transmission, and engine all operating properly. Currently this cars shows just over 67,000 kms. Fantasy Junction had the pleasure of acquiring this example for the current owner from a gentleman in San Francisco who had the car for several years. During the current ownership period, the cinquecento offered here shared garage space with a Ferrari 250 GT “Lusso”, and a 250 GT Ellena, among other extraordinarily high caliber automobiles.
