Description
1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 `Daytona`
s/n 14015
Red with Black Leather and Red Carpets
This car was sold new to the US in red with black interior and was fitted from the factory with A/C and power windows. After a long stint in Northern California, it was exported to Switzerland in 1986, only to return shortly after when it was sold to Bob Anderson, in 1993, then to George Nuse in 1998. We acquired the car from Mr. Nuse. We have records that outline mechanical work completed back to 1994 when the car was re-imported to the US. Currently the car shows 57,791 km which is believed to be correct.
The car is extremely good mechanically, having been comprehensively serviced at 53,167 kms by FAF Motorcars in Atlanta, Georgia. This service included soft brake lines, ball joints, belts, hoses, water pump and seals, and the installation of a new clutch. The engine starts easily and runs strong with good power. Second gear syncro is excellent, even when cold. The steering box has been rebuilt and the car tracks straight. The car is equipped with the correct Ansa exhaust and sounds as it should. The new owner should plan to overhaul all four shocks, which were done last in 1994.
This car has seen a reasonably nice repaint in its original color and looks like a Pebble Beach show car from 5` away, but up close, the critical eye will notice small imperfections. All the exterior chrome and stainless trim is in good original condition. All window glass, including the windshield, is excellent. Much of the gasketing material is original, and generally in good condition. The door shut on both driver`s and passenger`s sides is crisp and the alignment good. It is fitted with the correct side mirrors and sits on nice Cromadora wheels with Michelin XWX tires.
The interior is excellent with very soft leather seats, excellent door panels, headliner, carpets, and rear shelf. This car has been fitted with a correct European type Ferrari wood wheel in very good condition. The console is in good condition, but shows some minor scarring on the leather. The original Becker Europa radio is still fitted. The door jambs and sill plates and clean and tidy. Even the wing window latches are still in place, a common weak point on Daytonas. All the gauges are fully functional, and the A/C blows, but not very cold.
The engine compartment is original and nicely detailed. The original hood supports remain, and the original hood pad is in excellent condition.
With the car come the jack and jack bag and hammer, spare, and records going back to 1994.
