Description

1984 Ferrari 308 GTSi Quattrovalvole S/n ZFFUA13A8E0052199 Rosso Corsa with Tan Leather This late production 308 QV was built in June of 1984 for the US market, and finished in Rosso Corso with tan leather interior. It is believed to be a 25,545 car from new, and has had at least 3 owners since it was sold new. Best described as a nice driver both cosmetically and mechanically, this example will be perfect for the buyer looking for a reasonably priced, late production GTS who enjoys improving his or her car over time. The car drives reasonably well with good second gear synchro, tight suspension, and good brakes. The engine makes excellent power with no smoke. The A/C system blows, but not very cold. A mechanical inspection on this car was commissioned with respected Ferrari service expert Patrick Ottis in January of 2008. Compression readings were between 165 and 180 lbs on all cylinders. Patrick reported that, while not a bad car, this example deserves a major belts service, radiator re-core, and steering rack rebuild. Fantasy Junction is aware of these future expenses, and has priced the car to accommodate for this. Cosmetically, the car presents well. It has been repainted in its original color, and additional touch up work has been preformed on the frontal facing areas. The paintwork was done to good driver standards and is appropriate for the value of the vehicle. The window glass, lenses, and rubber trim is all in good condition. The body is straight, and the door shut is good. The interior appears to be largely original. The dash, door panels, and seats are very good. There is light wear on the driver`s seat bolster and drivers side carpet, appropriate for the mileage indicated on the odometer. The removable top headliner is intact, but showing some age. The frontal area is in good original condition, as is the engine bay and rear storage area. This example comes with books, tools, jack and jack bag. Some records for the previous ownership periods are available. While not a show car, this late production 308 Quattrovalvole will provide the new owner with an opportunity to own this desirable car at a reasonable cost, and continuously improve during their ownership period at their own pace. With asking prices of pristine 308 QVs now soaring into the $65,000 range, and 328 GTSs in the $50,000-$60,000 range, this example is priced to reflect its condition and desirability.
