1991 Acura NSX Coupe
VIN: JH4NA1156MT003104
Black with Black Leather

Incredible balance, sophistication, and reliability! The NSX was leagues ahead of Ferraris from the same era! This is an unmodified, enthusiast owned, well cared for 41,000 mile example complete with books, tools, cover, window sticker, and sales literature.

The Acura NSX was produced between 1990 and 2005 by Honda, and was the world’s first all-aluminum production car. However, before the final version of the car was finished, it had already been through an impressive round of innovation and design.

The first production version of the car made its first public appearance to enthusiastic praise as the NS-X (short form for \"New Sports eXperimental\") at the Chicago Auto Show in February 1989, and then the Tokyo Motor Show in October 1989. Sports car enthusiasts were astounded by its low height, striking lines and distinct cockpit forward stance. Sporting a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout and lightweight aluminum construction, these cars were hailed by many as the \"Everyday Supercar\" and was marketed as the first Japanese car proficient enough to truly compete with Ferrari and Porsche, and did so convincingly.

Utilizing their vigorous motorsports program, Honda had significant development resources at its disposal and made extensive use of them on the NSX. By powering all three of Ayrton Senna’s world championship winning Formula One race cars, Honda had glowingly proven itself. Senna was considered Honda's main innovator in convincing the company to stiffen the NSX chassis further after testing the car at Honda's Suzuka GP circuit in Japan. In addition to Senna’s extensive contributions to the design of the car, the NSX was also put through its paces also at the Suzuka race circuit by esteemed Japanese Formula One driver Satoru Nakajima, who performed endurance distance duties related to chassis tuning. Prominent American driver Bobby Rahal was also an active participant in the car's development.

After studying their most noteworthy competitors such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche, Honda engineers designed the NSX in search of the perfect balance between true functional power and reliability. The original performance target for Honda was the Ferrari 328, which was then revised to the 348 as the design neared completion. In 1984, Pininfarina was commissioned by Honda to design the HP-X (Pininfarina Xperimental) which had a mid-mounted 2.0 liter V6 configuration. The intention of Honda was to meet or exceed the performance of the Ferrari, while offering Honda reliability at a more reasonable price. Later cars such as this one employ the more powerful 3.0L VTEC V6
engine. The result was a commanding naturally aspirated VTEC engine boasting the world's first production car engine with titanium connecting rods, forged pistons and ultra high-revving capabilities. With redline at a superior 8,000 rpm, this car represents all of the traits typically associated with the most prolific track and race engineered motor cars.

This particular two owner car was initially purchased new in October 1991 at Clinton Acura in Clinton, New Jersey, and has been a California car since 1995. The car is equipped with all of the standard equipment offered, and is fitted with the additional carpeted mats, the front trunk mat, as well as a car cover.

Currently showing 41,972 miles, this is an outstanding daily driver with carefree flair. The car has a current, clean Car Fax, and since it arrived at Fantasy Junction has been fully detailed and polished. There is some pitting in the paint on the hood, and the nose has some wear at the outside corners of the bottom of the nose, and some scratches just behind the vent on the passenger side. In general, the paint is good in keeping with a nice driver, but there is a small patch of oxidization just behind the passenger door at the roofline. There are small touchup paint points along the trunk, but on the whole the car makes a very strong presentation.

The driver’s seat shows typical wear along the leading edge of the seat, and the driver’s door shows some “knuckle” wear at the handle, while the passenger seat and door are in good condition with very little wear. The dash is in free from marks, shrinkage, and shows no cracks or fading. The carpet under both of the floor mats, and the mats themselves show little wear. Overall, the interior shows well, and the headliner has no markings or scratches. The running boards are in good condition, as is the trunk. The outside rearview mirrors show minimal wear. The windshield has very light pitting, but does show some scratches where the wiper marks touch, while the wiper arms themselves show the typical silvering where the black paint has been worn. The wheels are in good condition, but the left rear does show light curb rash. The car is fitted with relatively new Toyo Proxes4 tires all around.

The NSX was well advanced in both design and function. Virtually unheard of in supercars at the time, the NSX is well known for its ease of use, quality and solid reliability. These attributes combined with a reasonable price made this car incredibly popular worldwide. Today these cars are still considered by owners of the marque as one of the most reliable exotic cars ever manufactured with many examples exceeding 100,000 miles (160,000 km) without serious notable reliability issues or having suffered manufacturer recalls.
