With a diehard, cult following owing largely to their exceedingly high build quality, robust visual presentation, and extreme off-road capabilities, the Land Rover Defender stands at the top of its class for luxury all-terrain vehicles. The North American Series (NAS) examples are amongst the most desirable Land Rovers on the market today. In total, only 500 Defender 110s were brought to the U.S. market, with just one special-order example painted in black for Ralph Lauren, and the balance finished uniformly in Alpine white.

This particular example is an unmolested, 40,000 mile truck from new and, as with all the NAS examples, was originally optioned with the safari cage with luggage bars, roof rack with ladder, front brush bar, side runner steps, rear bumper with integral step, and its limited edition numbered plaque (#319/500). Save for an aftermarket radio currently fitted (the original is included), it is entirely stock and just as it left the factory.

The current owner is just the type of custodian whom is best to buy from, an individual that is fanatical about originality, documentation, and was proactive on maintenance. This particular truck has had approximately $18,000 spent on it over the last 12 months including 5 new tires, tune-up with new plugs, new radiator and hoses, new hood latch, rebuilt brakes, serviced the suspension including new shocks and worn suspension components, new stainless steel exhaust, air conditioning system service, as well as the replacement of all engine and driveline fluids and seals. At this time it runs and drives beautifully, and we welcome inspections to confirm this.

This Defender has a beautiful, original presentation. Believed to be original paint and upholstery throughout, there are a few minor blemishes appropriate for its 40,000 miles of use, but no substantial flaws inside or out.

While currently registered in North Carolina, this Defender has most recently resided on the current owner’s Northern California Winery, and is physically located with us here in our Emeryville showroom.

Accompanying the sale is the original books and manuals, tool kit on rear door, the original window sticker, original radio, and all service records detailing recent expenditures under the current custodianship. This 110 will appeal to the Land Rover enthusiast valuing unmolested originality, but one who is also looking for a fully serviced example that is ready to enjoy immediately.
