1994 Ferrari 348 Spyder VIN: ZFFRG43A7S0098950 White with Dark Blue Leather The Ferrari 348 Spyder represented a huge step forward from the very popular and successful 308/328 platform. A long awaited addition to the 348 TS and TB series, the Sypder was not released until four years after the first 348 was produced, and was Ferrari`s first real convertible of the Dino-308-328-348 series. Production began in 1993, ending in 1995, and with just 1,090 348 Spyders produced in total, there are by far the rarest of the 348 line. Featuring a 3.4 litre 300 horsepower V8 and a 5-speed gearbox, the 348 would top out an astonishing 171 mph- considerably more exciting than the 4-seat Mondial produced during the same period. One of the more notable features of the 348 was the highly visual `Testarossa` style air intakes extending along the doors. Built for the US market, and sold new in May of 1994 as a 1995 year model, this is an ultra-low mile, cosmetically impeccable, excuse-free car ideal for a perfectionist. With just 8,775 miles, and the 15,000 mile engine out service competed by Ferrari of Long Island (1998) it is a very low mileage example with no `stories`, which makes it an attractive, yet affordable modern Ferrari in absolutely like-new condition. There is absolutely no evidence of any damage repairs of paint work from new. Even the commonly rock chipped frontal area is completely free of stone marks. The spoiler has only very minor scuffing to the lower lip which is only visible from under the car. All the lenses and window glass is in excellent condition, including the fog lights which are unmarked. The right rear wheel has very minor curb rash. The balance of the wheels is in unmarked, like-new condition. The car sits on near-new Bridgestone tires. The interior reflects the very low mileage and it is in extremely good condition with no noticeable areas of wear. Both seats are like-new, with none of the wear on the driver`s seat bolster associated with getting in and out of the car, which is common to higher mileage cars in the 348/355 line. The factory carpets and in mint condition, as is the door, dash, and console leather. The factory soft top is in equally good condition, and when compared to the 355s, is easy to put up and stow away. The engine bay is correct, original, and completely stock, as is the front compartment. Both are representative of a very well cared for, extremely low mile example. This car comes with books, leather book holder, tools and leather tool case, records for a clutch replacement and the most recent oil change service by Ferrari of Long Island at 7,600 miles in November of 2005. The 1,200 and 15,000 miles services have been stamped in the service book which accompanies the car. At a fraction of the price of the nearly identical looking 355, or heavily deprecating 360s, the 348 is the economically feasible modern Ferrari road car. This example should appeal to the perfectionist who loves low mile cars in impeccable condition. A pleasant change from red/tan, this car looks even better in person as it does in photos.
