Introduced in 2004, the 612 Scaglietti is an elegant four-place Ferrari in the vein of the classic Ferraris of the past. Named for the legendary coachbuilder Scaglietti, the cars have incredible presence, which is enhanced by the evocative scalloped side panels that recall the famous Bergman/Rossellini 375MM. Featuring a 533hp 5.7 liter front-mounted V-12 and rear-mounted transaxle, the cars are fast and balanced. They also incorporate a very innovative extruded aluminum frame, which is both lighter and stronger than a conventional steel one.

Usually fitted with F1 style gearboxes, this example has a conventional 6-speed manual that will appeal to the traditional enthusiast. It is an immaculate example that had an original MSRP of $274,103.00, including nearly $20,000 in options. The options on the car are red brake calipers, batter charger, Daytona seats, color upon requests, heated front seats, navigation and telephone, color coordinated stitching, contrasting piping, ball polished wheel rims, shields, rear parking sensors, leather upholstered headliner and rear shelf, and color coordinated steering wheel. A copy of the original invoice is included with the car, along with copies of service receipts. The car also has books and tools.

The car has been well looked after and remains in wonderful nearly new condition. It has a clear bra, which has protected the front of the car and side mirrors from stone chips. There is a handful of very small pinpoint chips and other small blemishes, but less than expected given the mileage and age of the car. The wheels are in very nice shape, with only the smallest amount of curb rash on the right rear wheel. The other wheels are free from damage, though one of the center caps is cracked. The glass and lights are excellent.

The interior is extremely nice. The leather is outstanding throughout, with some very light wear in the usual spots on the driver’s seat bolster. The leather on the rear shelf is starting to shrink, but the remaining leather, which covers just about every surface (headliner, pillars, visors, dashboard, center console, door panels), is all in as-new condition. The contrasting stitching and Daytona seats are beautifully done and very striking, and the carpets are excellent. The special attention was paid when designing the car to ensure that the rear seats would actually be large enough to be useful, which enhances the usability of this car.

The engine compartment is completely clean and dry, and the trunk is excellent, revealing the tool set and manual pack in leather holders.

This is a fine opportunity to acquire a fully optioned and beautiful example of this elegant Ferrari. It is available at less than half the cost of when it was new, which is all the more remarkable considering that the model is still in production and is indistinguishable from a new example.
