General History

Launched in 2005, the all new DB9 was a revelation of engineering and design. Spurred on by Ford ownership and massive resources, Aston Martin was able to increase production and invest further into production improvements, build quality, and premium finishes. The results were remarkable in both performance and luxury.

In 2011 Aston Martin unveiled the V8 Vantage S, an even more capable performance variant in both coupe and roadster form. The V8 engine was upgraded to deliver 430hp propelling the Vantage S to 60mph in 4.5 seconds with a 189 mph top speed. Stiffened bushings, springs, and dampers as well as quicker steering ratio improved handling, while enhanced aerodynamics resulted from a more deeply carved carbon fiber front air intake up front and a carbon fiber diffuser at the rear. The biggest plus however was the 7-speed Sportshift II transmission, a lighter unit than the earlier 6-speed variant as part of the efforts made to shed weight for better performance.

History of this Aston Martin

This beautifully maintained Aston Martin was delivered to the first owner a resident of Delray Beach, FL. Finished in Marron Black with All Sahara Tan leather interior, the car was delivered with the following cost added options:

The first owner retained the car until June 2013 with 2,700 miles when it was sold to the second owner. In September 2013, under second ownership the car was involved in a minor accident with damage to the front bumper. The third and current owner, a resident of Northern California, purchased the car in January 2019 with 16,550 miles. As a California car, the car has passed emissions inspections in 2021, and 2023.

Service records accompanying the car indicate regular oil and filter changes and fluid changes as needed. A recall service was performed in November 2014 with 7,261 miles replacing the throttle pedal and installing new software as well as a clutch software repair. Additional regular services continued including the installation of coil-over springs supplied by the second owner. Oil and fluid services continue through 12,000 and 15, 000 miles as well as additional services. In 2018 with 15,696 miles new front and rear brake rotors and pads were installed, a new battery installed in 2019, coolant flush in 2020, new oxygen sensor and coolant thermostat, a new battery in 2021, and new Continental tires in 2022.

Condition and Ownership

Today this Aston Martin presents in excellent condition with beautiful Marron Black paint that is glossy and smooth throughout. The finish is rich and lustrous appearing black under most lighting conditions but revealing warm brunette metallic hues in brighter sunlight. The carbon fiber front and rear aerodynamic treatments are beautifully matched to this color. The door jams, inner surfaces, and the front and rear bumpers are in excellent condition, though typical small stone chips are evident on the front fascia. The black canvas power convertible top raises and lowers properly. The condition of the exterior top material and interior headliner is excellent throughout. The wheels are in very good condition showing one slight mark on one rim at the bead edge. Continental Extreme Contact Sport Plus 245/35 ZR20 tires are mounted at all four corners, dated 2021. Lenses, glass, and lighting are all in excellent condition throughout. All emblems, script lettering, and exterior details are beautifully finished and in excellent condition consistent with the low miles.

The lush All Sahara Tan interior is elegantly finished and has been properly cared for, showing no significant or notable marks to the premium leather luxury seating surfaces, center console, or dashboard. Light use is evident on the driver’s side seat bolster. The front seats are beautifully contoured and feature optional stitching over the leather panels of the adjustable heated seats. The dash is contrasted with black piano veneer inserts appearing on the top portion of the descending center console, adding a touch of vintage elegance. The dashboard and classic Aston Martin instrumentation operate properly as do all systems, air conditioning, premium sound system, and power convertible top. The condition of the carpeting, rear seats and side surfaces, and other soft interior surfaces are all excellent throughout.

Under the hood, the beautiful V8 engine is clean and unmodified from new, highlighted by elegant and purposeful castings displaying distinct insignias, all nestled in a remarkably clean engine compartment. The underside shows no visual evidence of structural compromise, further supported by the documentation and ownership history that has accompanied this car since new.

The car starts, runs, and drives per original specifications delivering a capable V8 exhaust note. Driving manners are impressive with a combination of power and poise that even moderately skilled performance drivers can enjoy. The combination of the 7-speed automatic transmission with manual shift capabilities and torquey V8 engine delivers a powerful punch on command. Handling is smooth and sporty, while highway driving is quite nicely composed even with the top down.
