General History

The Mercedes-Benz AMG has long been considered one of the premier performance partnerships in the automotive industry. Developed as a GT coupe, the distinctive design captured the latest in modern technology with several historic design cues linking it to some of the greatest performance cars in Mercedes-Benz history. Unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the GT and GT S variants were offered for the 2015 model year configured with the GT S packing 503 hp from the 4.0-liter Biturbo V8. The front engine, rear drive package delivered exceptional performance numbers due to the 93% alloy structure.

Current Condition and Ownership

Delivered to the first owner when sold January 27, 2016 by Mercedes-Benz of Palm Springs, the car was regularly serviced by the first owner at the selling dealer until it was sold to the second owner in September 2021. Regular dealer services continued through 2023 when the car was sold to the third and current owner in December 2023.

Service invoices accompanying the car include September 2022 recall update for engine electronics, computer software, carbon fiber driveshaft bonding which included replacing these driveline components when the car returned in November for this service. At the same time, Flex A service was performed at 11,033 miles covering all fluids, oil and filter change, and various inspections. The most recent California emissions test was performed with passing results in November 2023. In November 2023 Mercedes-Benz of Fairfield, CA serviced the car replacing wiper blades, new key fob batteries, new cabin air filters, oil and filter change, and tire inspection.

Cosmetic Presentation

Today this beautiful AMG GT S presents as a dynamic example of one of the most technologically advanced GT cars of the decade. Digital paint meter readings taken throughout the surface of the car have returned factory thickness numbers consistent with factory paint original cars. All glass surfaces, clear front and rear lenses, and exterior body trim are in excellent cosmetic condition including the various red accents on the gleaming black body. The paint is in excellent condition throughout with no notable flaws or chips in the glossy finish. All openings function as new, with excellent closure, and proper panel gaps. There are no chips or scratches in the expansive windshield. The optional 19”/20” black wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport tires are in excellent condition (2021 date codes) accented by the optional red brake calipers. The stance is purposeful with commanding presence and racing lineage conveyed through the trunk mounted rear spoiler.

Inside the car, the attractive red and black leather interior exhibits excellent finishes throughout. All interior components have been beautifully maintained including smooth and supple leather trimmed seats, sculpted dash, and console materials, all of which form a beautifully cohesive cockpit. The leather seats are adorned with red stitching, accented by optional red seat belts, and red seat inserts. The interior is stunning, comfortable, and the seats are very supportive, offering the ideal combination of support and comfort in a range of driving conditions. The leather steering wheel offers an elegant touch to the sporting interior flanked by paddle shift levers which activate the 7-speed Speedshift transmission. The balance of the elegant interior, bespoke satin alloy trim, rich materials, and sophisticated information technology convey a sporting elegance befitting the Mercedes-Benz tradition of superlative GT cars. The easily accessible rear hatch opens to reveal spacious cargo with plenty of room for weekend luggage for two, finished in matching black carpet.

Under the hood, the stout and visually stunning 4.0 Liter hand-built AMG performance engine has been meticulously maintained both mechanically and cosmetically, showing only minor signs of use, further supporting the original documented miles. Factory components, trim pieces, and manufacturer's engine compartment stickers remain in place, as new. The undercarriage of the car further supports the miles including several areas still showing the factory original paint daubs, protective coating, and properly fitted chassis pans. Suspension and various exposed components revealed in the underside are also in excellent condition, with a clean and fresh appearance.

Driving Impressions

Driving this AMG GT S is a superlative performance experience. The leather touchpoints are a dramatic contrast to the incredible acceleration, handling, and phenomenal brakes. Docile when in daily use, comfortable AC and premium audio are readily at hand even when more spirited driving is encouraged.
