1992 Mercedes-Benz 500SL Hardtop Roadster VIN WDBFA66E4NF037889 Anthracite Metallic with Grey Leather Interior Introduced in 1989 to replace the venerable but aging previous generation of SL that had been in production since 1972, the R129 was a technological tour de force when it was first introduced. Chock full of interesting technological, convenience, and safety features, the car was highly sought after and thoroughly modern. There is light creasing but no cracking or holes, while the remainder of the interior is like new. The wood is free from cracking and scratches, while the dashboard has no warping, cracking, or discoloration. The instruments and switches are excellent throughout, as are the carpets. Everything is incredibly well-wrought, and even the door pockets and center console compartments lock with the doors, for protecting valuables when the car is parked with the top down. The engine and trunk are both extraordinarily clean. The engine is almost spotless, a remarkable feat for a daily driven car. This is an ideal opportunity to acquire one of these elegant, usable and almost indestructible cars. The fully electric lined top and hardtop make this car ideal for all seasons, both for daily or occasional use, while the large eight cylinder engine makes progress pleasingly rapid and enjoyable. This particular car is an unmolested and wonderfully looked after example that needs nothing and remains so nice that it is difficult to believe.
