Description

1993 Porsche 911 RS White with black Interior VIN: WPOAB296XPS418050 Originally conceived to simultaneously make the 911 more affordable (the base price was $53,900) and appeal to the true driver, the RS America is now a much sought after car that is already a collector's item. To achieve both ends, they were available in rear-wheel drive form only and were fitted with less standard equipment, including a fixed (and therefore lighter and less complicated) rear wing, less soundproofing, cloth seats, lightweight door panels, deleted rear seats etc. They could, however, be well-optioned, and this is one such car. It is fitted with air conditioning (converted to R134a), sunroof, red seatbelts, electric windows, central locking, and sport seats with electric height adjustment. The car is also fitted with the optional limited slip differential. This car is also fitted with a number of upgrades, all of which are of the highest quality. The wheels are 18\" HRE 540Rs with 225/35/18 and 265/35/18 Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position tires, and the suspension is a Bilstein PSS9 coilover setup with adjustable ride height and RUF swaybars. The car has Brembo brakes with red calipers and drilled rotors all around and the front rotors are two-piece items with aluminium hats. The breathing of the motor has been improved with a K&N cone filter conversion and RUF primary muffler bypass pipe. The car also has a high-flow metallic catalytic converter from Fabspeed. The car is still fitted with one muffler (it originally had two), so it is not unbearably loud, but it sounds absolutely fantastic. A U-pipe to replace this muffler is also included, but makes the car extremely loud. A nice benefit of removing one of the mufflers is also significant weight savings the rear extremity of the car. The motor itself was rebuilt at 19,000 miles and includes Carrillo connecting rods, polished crankshaft and bearings, AutoThority DME, Mass Air Flow kit. The flywheel was replaced by a Carrera Cup flywheel and the clutch replaced at this point as well. The car was dynoed at 292.4hp at the flywheel and the sheets are included. The car also has clear European turn signal lenses and a roll bar. The stereo has been upgraded as well, at a cost of approximately $6500. It has a McIntosh receiver and amp, as well as Focal components. Extra door panels are included because the originals were modified to accommodate the new woofers and tweeters. The car also comes with the original 17\" Cup wheels and a RUF short shift kit that has not yet been installed. 5-point harnesses are also included, but not installed, in addition to a pair of racing seats. The car also comes with cup-type brake ducts to replace the foglights. The total for the recent modifications is over $22,000 (does not include engine rebuild). The car was tracked some years ago by its original owner. All documentation relating to the car's track time is present. No cost was spared in terms of maintenance or quality of parts used. The owner had the independent shop that was looking after the car provide at the track support and all receipts for brake pads, tires, and 100-octane gas are included. The engine was rebuilt at approximately 19,000 miles to rectify a noisy bearing. The motor was not blown. In short, the owner knew what he was doing and could afford to do it well. The motor and track support were provided by Foreign Affairs in Pompano Beach, Florida. The car has covered over 20,000 trouble-free miles since that time. Cosmetically, the car is extremely nice. The front end has wear typical for the mileage, and several of the glass lenses have holes. Otherwise, the car is excellent. It has never been in an accident, and the remainder of the paint is nearly flawless. The wheels are very striking and in reflect the low mileage covered since their installation. The interior is excellent as well, with no areas of significant wear. The seats, carpets, console, headliner, dashboard etc. are all extremely well-preserved. A set of mats embroidered with `Porsche` are also fitted. The resulting car is both individual and functional without being over the top. It has been impeccably maintained and has all records and receipts from new. The original window sticker is also included. The car is in great shape and ready to provide an unadulterated Porsche experience. This is a rare opportunity (just 701 were built) to acquire an outstanding example of one of the purest driving Porsches in recent years.
