General Overview

Introduced in 1996, the flagship V12 550 Maranello perfectly captured the glory days of Ferrari’s legendary front-engine sports cars (most notably the 275GTG and 365 GTB/Daytona). The Pininfarina body design evoked all the grace and muscularity of earlier Ferraris without bowing to predictable retro design themes. The aggressive, yet beautifully proportioned body hunkered down over the 485 hp V12 engine and 6-speed manual transaxle, delivering a delightful harmony of power and grace in a highly capable and surprisingly agile road car.

In 2002 improvements arrived in the 575 model including a redesigned interior, larger disc brakes, and a more powerful engine. Having learned much from the 550, the 575 now included vastly improved aerodynamics, adaptive suspension, and for the first time coupled with the V12, the ‘F1’ electrohydraulic manual gearbox. The biggest boost to the 575 however, was under the hood. Outfitted with a Bosch Motronic fuel-injected 5748cc V12 engine putting out a remarkable 508 hp with 434 lb ft of torque, the 575 Maranello could reach 60mph in a mere 4.2 seconds and achieved quarter mile times of 12.2 seconds. Comfort and power were hallmarks of the 575 Maranello offering refined leather interiors and racing inspired exterior features, all of which combined in a wonderfully balanced touring car.

History of This Car

This stunning low mile 575 Maranello was delivered to Cauley Ferrari, West Bloomfield, MI on June 5, 2002. The car remained under US ownership in Michigan and New York until 2008 when it was titled and registered in Ontario, Canada. By 2013, the car returned to North America under California ownership with 4,514 miles. The current owner purchased the car in January 2018 with 4,524 miles. Between January and May 2018, the following services were performed on the car exclusively by Classic Performance Restorations, Inc. Gilbert, AZ.

January 2018, 4,525 miles – Remove all sticky parts and ship to vendor for refinishing.

February 2018 – Replace all refinished formerly sticky knobs and switches with newly refinished non-sticky components. Check all new switches for functionality.

May 2018, approx. 4,600 miles - Belt service performed, new Pirelli OEM PZero tires installed, and front sway bar bushings replaced.

General Condition

Today this 575 Maranello presents as an excellent example of one of the very best touring cars, culminating the Enzo era. Finished in stunning Blue Tour de France over Cuoio Leather interior with optional dark blue contrasting accents, this stunning color combination delivers an elegant exterior with sporting interior features. The paint presents with excellent gloss throughout, deep luster, and exceptional factory fit in all panel lines. The front and rear bumpers have excellent fit to the body and all opening features open and close properly. There are two minor paint cracks on the rear bumper cap near the trunk latch, but otherwise the paint finish is very nice throughout. The inner strike surfaces, underside hood and trunk details, and door jambs are in excellent condition. The original windshield, rear, and side glass are in very nice condition, all of which retain the Sigla brand. The lighting and lenses are excellent throughout with no notable chips, crazing, or blemishes. The emblems and script are very well preserved and detailed. The car is outfitted with the rare and highly sought-after 6-speed manual gearbox, Ferrari yellow fender shields, beautifully maintained factory wheels with matching Ferrari yellow centers, and red brake calipers perched at each corner. The Pirelli PZero tires were installed in 2018 and remain essentially as new. The previous owners have minimized mileage accumulation to an indicated 4,970 miles.

The interior of the car is in especially nice condition. The switches and various knobs, often found over time to be sticky in this series Ferrari, have been professionally removed, refinished to smooth, non-sticky finishes, reinstalled, and tested for proper function. The leather surfaces are supple and smooth with excellent surfacing and no marks or discoloration. The interior color combination is both elegant and sporty, recalling the look and feel of the original and inspiring Daytona. Nice interior touches include Ferrari prancing horse headrests, dark blue seat piping, enameled crossed flags on the center console, traditional luggage straps over the embossed rear parcel tray, and a polished alloy gated shifter plate heralding the 6-speed manual gearbox. The dashboard, instruments and switches are all in excellent condition. Even the dashboard top surface is reflective of exceptionally fine quality and fit. The headliner, center console, door panels, visors, and A-pillars, and deep blue carpeting are all in excellent condition, reflective of the minimal accumulated miles and indoor storage. In all, the interior is fresh and exceptionally nice with exceptional fit and finish befitting a car of this stature. The trunk area remains essentially new with factory carpet, correct finishes, and discretely located Becker Silverstone 6-disc CD changer. Given the low miles, proper care, and enthusiastic consideration from previous owners, this Maranello presents as one of the finest examples we have had the pleasure to review.

Under the hood, the amazing Ferrari V12 engine has been properly preserved, featuring correct alloy engine and fuel injection castings in excellent condition. The factory housings and accessory equipment are in superb condition with thoughtful detailing. The original fittings and hardware showcase Ferrari engineering and their commitment to artistry even in the smallest mechanical components. Ferrari number plates, factory installation stickers, and verification markings are in place and in excellent condition. The original engine and engine compartment are exceptionally clean and correct and benefit from a May 2018 belt service performed less than 500 miles ago. The underside of the car is in very good condition, further confirming the low miles and professional care. The undercarriage, including suspension components, and hardware appear factory correct. A cat-back bolt on aftermarket exhaust system has been installed, although the original rear exhaust cans are included in the sale. There is no visual evidence of structural damage to the floor or suspension components as well as no significant road rash on the aerodynamic chassis shields or surrounding components.

The car drives and shifts beautifully with no hesitation and progressive power delivery coupled to the impressive 6-speed manual gearbox. The suspension offers superb stability and high-speed control but is just at home under casual touring. Road manners are exactly as described when contemporary automotive press praised the 575 Maranello for its phenomenal acceleration and surprising ease of use.

This beautiful low mile Ferrari 575 Maranello offers known history and superb cosmetics. The elegant Blue Tour de France exterior and supple Cuoio leather interior create a distinctive combination of power and prestige befitting the Maranello name.
